A visitation for Lillie M. (Porter) Perry, 79, Junction City, will be 10 - 11:00 a.m. followed by a short funeral service on Saturday, November 1, 2008, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street. Cremation will follow the service. Cremated remains will be buried at Highland Cemetery at a future date.
Lillie Perry was born October 26, 1929, in Manhattan, Kansas to Charlie Lee and Willa Mae (Talbott) Hawkins.
Lillie went to school in Manhattan until the family moved to Junction City. Lillie went to High School in Junction City. She married Edward Porter. They were later divorced. She later married Jackie George Perry on August 16, 1979. She was a house wife and a loving mother.She worked for Witicker Cable for many years. She took early retirement because of health reasons. Lillie was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church
In December of 1999, she started her new journey at Good Samaritan because of alzheimers and crippling arthritis.
She is survived by her two daughters, DeCarla Carter of Junction City and Marie Washington of Riley and two sons, LeRoy Porter and Kevin Porter both of Oklahoma. She is also survived by two sisters, Delores Lawhorn and Henrietta Elliot both of Topeka and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward George Porter, Sr. her husband Jackie George Perry, one son, Edward George Porter, Jr. and one daughter Clarissa Barber.
She will be missed by many.
