A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Highland Cemetery for Lillian A. Taylor, 101, Junction City. Reverend Todd Britt will officiate. Mrs. Taylor passed away Monday June 16, 2008 at Valley View Professional Care Center. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Wednesday, June 18,2008 at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, 805 Caroline. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the 4-H Senior Citizen Building 1025 S. Spring Valley Road Junction City, Kansas 66441.
Lillian was born November 1, 1906, in Bennington, Kansas the daughter of John and Christina Mocker Essig.
Lillian attended schools at the Ottawa County School, Munson School and the Enterprise Academy. She was a homemaker her entire life. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church; Kansas Farm Bureau; Extension Homemakers Council and the Lamplighters Circle at First Presbyterian Church. Lillian also served as a 4-H Leader for many years. She enjoyed quilting and sewing.
She married Harry Spencer Taylor January 15, 1924. He passed away June 22, 1986.
She is survived by two sons, Wilbur Taylor of Norwalk, CT. and Lee Taylor of Junction City, KS. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two children, three brothers, three sisters and one grandson.
