A Mass of Christian Burial for L. Paul Dague, 75, will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 4, 2011 at St. Xavier Catholic Church with Father Al Brungardt officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. No visitation is planned. Mr. Dague died on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in Evansville, IN.
He was born on July 23, 1935 to Paul Orville and Angela Leonard Dague in Junction City. He attended the St. Xavier's school system from which he graduated in 1953. He then attended the Universities of New Mexico and Pennsylvania where he majored in Electrical Engineering and received BS, MS and PhD degrees.
He served on active duty as an officer in the US Navy and then in various Engineering and Management positions, primarily in applied research and product design, for RCA, General Electric, Gould Inc. and Measurement Analysis Corporation from which he retired in 1996. He was a licensed Professional Engineer, a Senior Life Member of the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers and a member of the American Legion.
On June 15, 1957 he married Lucille Joan Smith, she preceded him in death in 2002. He was active in Civic Association and Civic Federation activities, where he was elected President and Chairman respectively and in the Naval Reserve.
He is survived by a son Victor; three daughters; d'Anne Smith, Angela Kathleen Ross and Marguerite Therese Boesing; a sister Catherine Clare Arenz and twenty grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly prefer that memorial contributions in Paul's name be made to NARSAD Research.
