Graveside services for Lennie M. Smith 89, Junction City, will be 2:00pm Thursday March 9, 2006 at Highland Cemetery, Wakefield, KS. with Pastor James Callaway officiating. Mrs. Smith passed away March 5, 2006 at Geary Community Hospital. No visitation is planned. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 624 N. Jefferson, Junction City, KS 66441.
Mrs. Smith was born August 30, 1916 in Bourbon, MO the daughter of Posy and Nellie (McManus) Ray. She worked in house wares at the Gibson Store and was a Pink Lady volunteer at Geary Community Hospital.
She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #45, and First Baptist Church.
She was married to George S. Smith March 7, 1950 in Junction City, he preceded her in death March 22, 1994.
She is survived by her children, Clara, and Norma, both of Junction City, KS, Larry, of Wakefield, KS, Kay of Paola, KS, and Posey of Tucson, AZ.; sisters Pearl, Beaula, Opal, Grace, all of Missouri; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
