Leland D. "Lefty" Guiot, 85, of Junction City, KS passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at the Wesley-Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita, KS. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, November 5, 2012, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street, Junction City, KS with Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will take place 6-8 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2012, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel. Lefty was born July 15, 1927, in Huscher, KS. The son of Walter and Jaunitta (Frybarger) Guiot. He has lived in Junction City since the early 1950's.
Lefty owned and operated Goodwin - Guiot Travel Center for many years with
his brother-in-law Don Goodwin where they sold many travel trailers. He was also a partner in the car business with Don. Lefty also owned a liquor store, apartments and rental homes in the Junction City Community. Lefty was a member of the Optimist Club, American Legion and the First Christian Church. He served in the United States Navy.
He married Phyllis Vollan March 11, 1953. She passed away March 12, 1991.
Survivors include his daughter Legina "Gina" Guiot of Wichita, KS. He is also survived by one sister Shirley Kerns of Klamath Falls, OR; two granddaughters Lacey and Amber Guiot of Junction City, KS and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Phyllis and one son Bruce in 2011.
