Leigh A. Castle, 44, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 at her home. A visitation will be held Monday, December 8, 2014, from 6:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. After the visitation, cremation will take place. Leigh was born August 27, 1970, in Ann Arbor, MI, the daughter of Buddy Ray and Betty Lou (McCollough) Castle.
Leigh graduated from Jefferson High School in Monroe, MI in 1989. She lettered in swimming. After high school she entered the United States Navy. In the Navy she was trained as a dental technician. She was a Gulf War Veteran.
On March 15, 1999, she married Adrian Ortega who is also a Navy Veteran. They met on the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71).
She is survived by her husband Adrian who is a Disabled Army Veteran. She is survived by one daughter, Rachael Angela-Leigh Castle-Ortega, her mother, Betty (Castle) Bragg of Newport, MI, two brothers, William (Andy) Castle of Ypsilanti, MI, and Bruce Castle of Louisville, KY, one sister, Lynn Castle of Whitmore Lake, MI. She is also survived by her animal family, Terra (kitty), Apple Crispy Cavy (guinea pig), Molly Anna (bunny), Punkin (puppy), her step-mother, Conchetta Castle, as well as numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and all of her adopted family of the Phoenix Circle (FHP).
