Lee Quisenberry, Jr., 76, of Overland Park, formerly of Junction City, died Dec. 3, 2014 at St. Luke's South Hospital in Overland Park. Lee was born June 20, 1938 in Henryetta, Oklahoma, the son of Homer Lee & Marian (Buford) Quisenberry.
Lee was a 1956 graduate of Junction City High School and the University of Kansas, with a B.S. in Education. He later received a Master's Degree from Emporia State University and a Master's Degree from Northwestern University.
Lee was a former high school teacher in Junction City, Topeka, and Boulder, Colo. He later was the Uni-Serv Director for the K.N.E.A. (Kansas National Education Assn.) in Topeka, and later in the Kansas City area. Lee was member of the First Baptist Church, Junction City. He enjoyed watching movies, and was a "movie-triva buff" He also was a huge baseball fan, having visited all the baseball stadiums in the United States. He also acheived his life-long goal to visit all 50 states. He was a huge K.U. Basketball fan.
Lee is survived by a sister, Celia Olson and her husband Clayton, Junction City; and 2 nephews, Michael and Kevin Olson, Overland Park. He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant sister, Diana Lee Quisenberry.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Inurnment will be in Highland Cemetery. The family will greet friends 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
