Memorial Services are pending in Clovis, New Mexico for Laura A. Gardner, 82, Wakefield, Kansas. Mrs. Gardner passed away Friday, December 8, 2006, at the Geary Community Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel is assisting the family with cremation services

Laura was born January 28, 1924 in Elida, New Mexico to Demas R. and Virginia (Hernandez) Gonzalez. On October 7, 1949 she married Garviss L. Gardner and begin the live of a military wife. She came to the Junction City, Fort Riley area in March of 1959 from Fort Kobbe in Panama, Canal Zone
Laura has lived in Wakefield since 1977 where she worked as a nurse for 17 years at Heritage Village before she retired.
She is survived by a daughter, Gloria P. Hohman, a son Michael L. Gardner, both of Junction City, KS; a step daughter Elizabeth Ann Tidwell of Joshua, TX; two sisters, Sue Chume of Clovis, New Mexico and Connie Gonzalez of Elida, New Mexico. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, five sisters and two brothers.
