Larry G. Biggs, 75, of Junction City, Kansas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A visitation will take place 2-4 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the visitation. A Celebration of Life will take place 5-9:00 p.m. Sunday October 30, 2022 at the Elk's Lodge #1037 723 South Washington Street Junction City, Kansas. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Larry G. Biggs memorial fund.
Larry was born May 27, 1947 in Springfield, Tennessee the son of Herschel and Christine (Woodard) Biggs.
Larry retired from the City of Junction City in 2013. Larry enjoyed and appreciated music. He was an accomplished guitar player and performed in numerous places in Tennessee and Kansas. There was live music at every family get together. He was a member of the Elk's Lodge #1037 in Junction City, Kansas and Son's of the American Legion at Post #45 in Junction City, Kansas. Larry enjoyed watching western movies and working on home projects. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Larry is survived by one son, Joel Kendzierski of Lebanon, Tennessee; three daughters, Carolyn Dasher of Junction City, Kansas, Julie Poole of Adams, Tennessee and Mary Christine Smith of Springfield, Tennessee; thirteen grandchildren, John Cody Hardy, Marissa Biggs, Jordan Biggs, Haley Kohlmann, Alexis Kohlmann, Kylie Kohlmann, Rachel Boll, Kyle Boll, Michael Smith, Stephen Smith, Katie Kendzierski, Scottie Kendzierski and Lindsay Alexander; six great-grandchildren, Destany Williams, Jesse Williams, Allysa Boll, Emily Howard, Davin Howard and Tylor Hardy; two brothers, Russell Biggs and Tommy Biggs; one sister, Erma Anderson; his father-in-law Roy Taylor, Sr; host of nephews, nieces and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Nancy Biggs; one daughter, Jennifer Kohlmann; two great-grandchildren, Leah Morgan Grace Boll and Abel Scott Kendzierski; two brothers, Eldon Biggs and Dannie Biggs; two sisters, Betty Sedar and Jean Hooper; his mother-in-law Marjorie Taylor.
