Kyoko Johnson, 87, of Junction City, died December 26, 2016 at Valley View Senior Life in Junction City. Kyoko was a native of Japan, having been born January 29, 1929 in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan, the daughter of Ishigoro Tateda and Kashi Fujita. She attended all of her schooling in Japan. She was a homemaker.
Kyoko married Leon J. Johnson on March 15, 1954 in Sapparo, Japan. Leon survives of the home. Other survivors include: 2 sons, Vern Johnson and his wife Julie, Junction City, and James Johnson and his wife, Glenice, Junction City; 6 grandchildren, Rosemary (Johnson) Dahlgren and Matthew Johnson, both of Topeka, Sarah (Johnson) Hanning, Manhattan, Kimberly Johnson, Ashley Johnson, and William Johnson, all of Junction City; and 3 great-grandchildren, Sean and Harper Dahlgren, Topeka, and Maddox Hanning, Manhattan. Kyoko was preceded in death by a daughter, Mona Sekanick.
It was Kyoko's wish to be cremated.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
