A visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel for Kimie K. Mattingly, 81, Junction City, Kansas. Fr. Al Brungardt will officiate. Cremation will follow the funeral service. The cremated remains of Mr. and Mrs. Mattingly will be buried at St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date.
Kimie was born March 18, 1926, in Hokkaido, Japan.
She married Walter E. Mattingly July 25, 1956, in Tokyo. He passed away March 3, 2005.
Kimie had worked for the Geary Community Hospital in the housekeeping department. She then worked for Dr. Charles S. Bollman as his personal housekeeper for 14 years.
She is survived by her son Joseph D. Mattingly of Junction City, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and several siblings.
