Funeral services for Kim Russell, 61, of Junction City will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Living Word International Ministries Church with Bishop Clarence Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2011, 6p.m.-8p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, 805 Caroline Avenue. Mrs. Russell passed away on August 3, 2011. Memorial contributions have been designated to the Living Word International Ministries Church, 1704 St. Mary's Road, Junction City, KS 66441.
Kim was born in Korea, immigrated to the U.S. in the 1970's and has been a resident of Junction City, KS for over 30 years. Kim's parents and maternal and paternal grandparents preceded her in death. At various stages of her life, she had been a devout church member and Deacon. Also served as a foster mother to 45 children, Kim served as a home maker and was a successful businesswoman. She enjoyed cooking, (feeding others), gardening, fishing and searching for natural herbs.
Kim is survived by husband Troy Russell of 38 years, daughter Kim Truesdell, sons; Shane Russell and Jason Russell. Brother, Yoon Kyu Shik (Han Bong Nam) of Korea, sisters; Kyong Kelley (William) of NC, Kyong Hwang (Maryland). Extended family include mother-in-law, Blanche McKandes, Brothers-in-law; Thomas Russell (Anna) of Chicago, Victor Russell (Monica) Junction City, KS, Kym McKandes, OR. Sisters-in-law, Terri Russell, Manhattan, KS, Chrystele McKandes of Atlanta, GA. Many nieces, nephews and close friends.
