Kenneth Earl Taylor

SFC Kenneth Earl Taylor US Army Ret, 84, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Valley View Senior Life Center in Junction City, KS. A graveside service with full military honors will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2018, at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery near Manhattan, KS. Reverend Rex Matney will officiate.

He was born on July 25, 1934 in Franklin, NC the son of Elmer James and Grady (Adams) Taylor.

Kenneth served in the United States Marine Corp for three years. During his time in the Marine Corp, his greatest accomplishment was placing second with an endurance hike to the top of Mount Fugi Japan's tallest peak at 3,776 meters. He later served in the United States Army. He retired from the United States Army in 1976 at the rank of E-7. During his career in the Army, he served in Korea, Vietnam and various Army Installations in the United States. During most of his career in the Army, he served as a military police officer. He also served as a Game Warden at Fort Riley. Kenneth later worked for McCall Pattern Company in Manhattan, KS as a Security Officer. He loved serving his country and had great love for his close and extended family. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.

Kenneth married Yun "Kim" Suk. She passed away June 21, 2017.

Kenneth is survived by one son; James (Kathy) Taylor of Milford, KS; Three Grandsons, Bryce N. Taylor of Houston, TX, Pierce A. Taylor of Junction City, KS and Adam P. Taylor of Milford, KS; one sister, Frances Taylor-Martin of Raleigh, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Yun Suk Taylor and two brothers, Charles and Dewey.
