Funeral services for Kenneth "Kenny" Romanski, 88, of Ogden, KS will be Wednesday, September 7, 2005, 10 a.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 6, 2005, 6-8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Burial will be at the Ogden Protestant Cemetery with military honors. Mr. Romanski passed away at Mercy Health Regional Medical Center, Manhattan, KS on August 31, 2005. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Legion #207, 515 Riley Avenue, Ogden, KS 66517.
Mr. Romanski was born April 4, 1917, Cleveland, OH to John and Inez (Stiffler) Romanski. He served in the U S Army during WWII in which he received the Purple Heart. He then worked for Civil Service at Fort Riley as a Maintenance Supervisor retiring after 33 years.
Mr. Romanski married Betty McHugh November 5, 1938, at Junction City. He was a resident of Ogden for 51 years. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, 60's Plus, AMVETS, and the Order of the Purple Heart, he and his wife were also very involved with the Girl Scouts for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Ogden, KS, one son, Gary Romanski of Ogden, KS, two daughters, Kimberly Romanski of Ogden, KS and Shelly Spurlock of Manhattan, KS, two nieces, Wilma Ussery and Virginia Green both of Kansas City, KS and three grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Grace Hicks and one brother, John Romanski.
Pallbearers will be Fort Riley Honor Guard
Honorary Pallbearers will be Shadow R. Hosier, Joshua Spurlock and Kyle Spurlock.
