Kenny was born March 3, 1954, in Mt. Sterling, Ill, the son of Clarence and Mary (Polland) Langdon.
Kenneth "Kenny" L. Langdon has been a member of our community for forty years and an employee with the city since August 1996. An avid Kansas State fan, Kenny is a proud season ticket holder for all the K State football home games. He would also attend the K State Basketball games on a regular basis. He loved his team and proudly wore his K State swag on game days.
Kenny is a regular fixture of our downtown. Diligent in his duties, he always had a smile and wave to share with anyone happily pushing his cart down the sidewalk whistling as he goes.
Kenny was a true gentleman. He would assist anyone with the door and help a lady to her car, ensuring that her car door was held open. Kenny loved children and would happily hold conversations and laugh with them. If ever he saw an article or photo of you in the Daily Union, he would present it to you and tell you how proud he was of you.
Kenny loved his music. He annually attended all four days of Country Stampede and could be seen at every Sundown Salute. Always involved with community service, you could count on Kenny to sell you tickets to the Kiwanis pancake feeds.
We all have fond memories and stories of Kenny. He will always be a part of our city family. Kenny would relish in his "rock star" status. He is the goodwill ambassador of our community and everything positive the city has to offer. Many strive to have a tenth of the impression that he has created. He leaves an indelible mark on all of us and will truly be missed.
Kenny is survived by three brothers, Clarence Langdon of Nevada, Mo, Raymond Langdon and wife Mary Ann of Summerfield, Fl and George Langdon and wife Terry of Abilene, KS; two sisters, Leta Langdon and her fiance William "Popeye" Moulton of Beardstown, Il and Shirley Langdon of Havana, Ill.
