Katharina "Katie" Potter, 73 of Junction City, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003 at her residence. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, Oct. 17, 2003 at the Fort Riley Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 16, from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel. Memorial Contributions may be given to the VFW Post #8773, 1215 S. Washington, Junction City, Kansas and or the Disabled American Veterans, VA Hospital - Bldg #24 RM106G, 2200 SW Gage Blvd., Topeka, Kansas 66622.
Katharina was born April 18, 1930 in Schonanger, Germany the daughter of Anton and Katharina (Kubitscheck) Wolf.
She married Paul W. Potter on March 25, 1960 in Ulm, Germany. He survives. They moved to Junction City in 1963.
She was the head cashier at the Junction City High School. She had worked for USD 475 as a cashier in both the Junior and Senior High Schools for 30 years combined. She became a naturalized citizen in 1970 in Geary County. She was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include, two sons, Al Potter of Moses Lake, WA., and Paul Potter of Kansas City, KS.; one daughter, Renee Schmedemann of Junction City; one brother, Anton Wolf of Ulm, Germany and two sisters, Ida Kohl of Arnegg, Germany and Maria Pflanzl of Haselbach, Germany.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant sister.
