Karl Robert Day
Karl Robert "Bobby" Day, 65, of Abilene, died October 5, 2015 at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina. Karl was born Oct. 13, 1949 in Junction City, the son of Robert George and Dorothy Elizabeth (Ucker) Day. Karl attended Junction City Schools and graduated from Junction City High School in the Class of 1967. He later served in the Army National Guard.
Karl worked as a machinist at ABB Preheater in Enterprise until his retirement. After retirement, he worked part-time at The Senior Citizens Center in Abilene. His hobbies were rebuilding & restoring antique automobiles and going to car shows.
Karl married Merri Goodwin Reese in Junction City on Dec. 10, 1984. Merri survives of the home. Other survivors include: 2 stepchildren, Amer Reese, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Amber Golden, Ozark, Mo.; 2 sisters, Penny Gullett, Great Bend, and Barbara Day, Junction City; 5 brothers, Randy Day, Walter Day, John Day, Tom Day, and Norman Day, all of Junction City; 4 grandchildren, Alexandria and Victoria Golden, Ozark, Mo., and McKenna and Mason Reese, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and 6 nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015 at his boyhood home, 337 W. 4th, Junction City.
