Karen L. Morris; a loving wife, mother, and grandmother of Junction City, Kansas, passed away on January 2, 2025, at the age of 65, at Good Shepherd Hospice House. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at the Junction City Church of the Nazarene.
Karen was born on February 18, 1959, to Alvin and Beverly Reichenberger in Vancouver, Washington. She graduated from Olathe High in the year 1977. After graduation, she went to Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Missouri and briefly attended K.U.
Karen embraced life and was always up for an adventure. She loved to travel and make memories from the time she was a small child until her passing. Karen wanted to get the most out of life and didn’t want to miss a thing; because of this, she took her family on many adventures and created core memories that will last a lifetime for those she leaves behind.
Karen was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She married Michael in 1979, in Olathe, Kansas. They raised their family of six in Junction City. Karen also managed her husband's chiropractic practice in town. She was cherished by her family for the way that she brought them together and showed them what it meant to love well. There was rarely a time spent with Karen that there was not laughter and the sense of love. To know Karen was to know joy, and this never changed, even as she was sick. She never stopped investing more in others than she did herself. She was kind to a fault and loved by all who knew her.
Karen's second home was with her church. This was because of Karen’s deep faith and belief that she was the hands and feet of Jesus. Karen never met someone that she didn’t show the love of Jesus to. She believed all could be saved and all should be loved. She spent much of her time studying the Bible and sending messages of encouragement to those she loved. She was heavily involved in their leadership teams with JCNAZ, holding titles such as Treasurer, Secretary of the Board, and led many women's Bible studies. Her unwavering faith, love, and laughter were a blessing to everyone who knew her, and she leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts of many.
Family was always very important to Karen. When she wasn't at church or the office, she found herself taking care of her husband, children, and of course, her beloved grandchildren. She always made home a place you wanted to be. Karen wanted her home to be cozy and comfortable. She was most content to sit in a room full of her loved ones and just take it all in with a smile on her face.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Morris, of Junction City; her children, Stephanie (Eric) Hilton of Manhattan, KS; Matthew (Lauren) Morris of Wichita, KS; Timothy (Patrice) Morris of Hutchinson, KS; Ashley (Andrew) Martin of Lansing, KS; and her grandchildren, Sara and Sean Hayes; Caleb, Leah, Claire, and Dylan Morris; Noah Morris; and Adalyn Martin.
A celebration of life service will be held at the Junction City Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
