A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2014, at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel, 805 Caroline Avenue for Karen June (Kandt) Bumgarner of Junction City, KS. Mrs. Bumgarner passed away Monday, October 27, 2014 at her daughter's home in Gardner, KS. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Friends of Animals, P.O. Box 580, Junction City, KS 66441 or to any animal shelter of your choice.
Karen was born June 13, 1939, the daughter August and Elsie Kandt.
She married Kenneth Ray Bumgarner on December 6, 1957. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2004.
Karen worked for Gibson's Discount Store. She later worked for First State Bank now Intrust for thirty one years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed reading, being around her family and spending time with her dear friend Edna Jackson.
Survivors include three daughters, Kaylene (Dennis) Prevett of Gardner, KS, Kathy (Ray) Arnold and Karla (David) Butler both of Junction City, KS.
Other survivors include two grandsons, Dustin (Lindsay) Murphy and Clint (Jill) Arnold all of Junction City, three granddaughters Christina Hessler, Kaitlyn and Kacey Butler all of Junction City, two great grandsons, Corbin Hessler and Max Murphy both of Junction City.
