Junice Samms

A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 17, 2007, at Fort Riley Cemetery for Junice J. Samms, 86, Junction City, Kansas. Mrs. Samms passed away Thursday, May 10, 2007, at her home in Junction City. Calling hours for Mrs. Samms will take place Wednesday, May 16, 2007, from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel. A funeral procession will form at 1:15 p.m. Thursday at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to the Hospice at Geary Community Hospital c/o Geary Community Health Care Foundation P.O. Box 3015 Junction City, Kansas 66441.



Junice was born October 2, 1920, the daughter of George and Anna (Schultz) Herbel. She has resided in the Junction City Community since 1965.



Junice was a homemaker and a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Junction City.



She married Lynnie R. Samms March 10, 1946, in Durham, Kansas. He passed away February 9, 2001.



Other survivors include her two children. A son Gary R. Samms resides in Junction City and a daughter Nancy Leiber resides in Canby, Oregon. She is also survived by two grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters.
