Julius Alexander, 75, of Junction City, KS passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015, at the Geary Community Hospital. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel. Cremation will follow the funeral service. The family visitation will be held Saturday following the service from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. at the Club Room located at the Valley View Estates. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the New Church of the Living God 1315 W. Ash Street Junction City, KS 66441.
Julius was born April 25, 1939, in Dallas, TX the son of Raymond A. and Beatrice (Graham) Alexander.
Julius served in the United States Army from 1956-1958. He worked for Texas Instruments after 30 years of service having retired in 1995. Julius was an ordained minister having served as an assistant minister at New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Dallas, TX for twelve years. He owned and operated his own catering business and enjoyed cooking.
He married Ocie Turner June 9, 1966, in Dallas, TX.
Other survivors include two sons, Michael Davis of Dallas, TX, Christopher Alexander and wife Theresa of Junction City, KS and two daughters, Vickie Alexander and husband Elton of DeSoto, TX and Lisa Walters and husband Roderick of Anna, TX. He is survived by one brother, Raymond Alexander and his wife Eloise of Houston, TX, one sister, Barbara Jean Darden of Dallas, TX, sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Julius Alexander, Jr. one brother Lewis Alexander and one sister Shirley Alexander.
