Julie D. Baird

Julie D. Baird, 82, of Junction City, Kansas passed away on January 6, 2025. 

 She was born on September 5, 1942, to Henry and Dolores Martinez in Long Beach, California. Julie spent her childhood growing up in California. 

She met her best friend and future husband, Jim, in California and later married him in July of 1976. After marrying Jim, they moved to Junction City, Kansas to follow Jim's career. They raised their family in Junction City and stayed as life long residents for over 30 years, making this town their home. 

Once she arrived in Junction City with her family, she found herself employed with Woolsworth Co until their closing. Julie then worked for Valley View for about 27 years until her retirement. 

In retirement, she found herself spending time with her family and friends. Always bringing joy and happiness where she went. 

Her friends and family will remember her as the kindest most giving person, never turning down a friend in need. She loved animals, more specifically her little dogs.

Julie is survived by her loving sons, Jessie (Rosanne) Enriquez of Wilmington, California and Robert Enriquez of Junction City, Kansas; one brother-in-law, Dean Baird of Hoisington, Kansas; three dogs, Coco, Bailey, and Tinker and a host of other loving family and friends. 

Julie was preceded by her husband, Jim; one sister, Kay Taylor; one brother-in-law, David Baird; one daughter-in-law, Carol Enriquez; one grandchild, Inez Enriquez and her parents. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be on Friday, January 17, 2025, starting at 1:00 p.m.
