Judy Carol Powell

Judy Carol Powell, 79, of Victoria, Texas, died on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at her residence in Victoria, Texas surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home in Junction City, Kansas. Burial will follow the service at White City Cemetery near White City, Kansas. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home.

Judy was born September 25, 1944 to Elmer and Irene (Wernecke) Ridley.

Judy worked in banking for many years before becoming a correctional officer for the State of Texas in which she retired after 20+ years. She was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband Michael R. Powell of Texas; two sons, Jack and Linda Marshall of Victoria, Texas and Kenneth and Cathy Marshall of Lufkin, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Lorynda and Brian Travis of Willis, Texas; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald and Darca Ridley of Milford, Kansas and Daniel and Brenda Ridley of Manhattan, Kansas; three step-daughters; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Michael W. Marshall, and a grandson.

Pallbearers are Larry Glessner, Jacob Marshall, Rick Palacios, Bradlee Ridley, Rob Ridley, Cary Winslow, Chad Winslow, and Cody Winslow.
