Memorial services for Judith C. Shrewsbury, 71, of Junction City will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 at the Episcopal Church of the Covenant with Father Dale Plummer officiating. Mrs. Shrewsbury passed away Sunday, June 6, at her home. Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m.-8 p.m., Thursday at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street. Inurnment for Mrs. Shrewsbury will be held privately at Highland Cemetery in Junction City. Memorial contributions may be given to the Episcopal Church of the Covenant, 314 N. Adams Street, Junction City, KS 66441 or to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 2001 S. Lindburgh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131.
Mrs. Shrewsbury was born December 25, 1938, Milford, KS to Carroll and Mildred (Bregan) Wyss. She married Daniel E. Shrewsbury April 10, 1959, Junction City, KS at the Zion United Church of Christ.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church and was active in the altar guild for many years. She also volunteered for the Geary County United Way for many years and was a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Shrewsbury worked for Geary County Schools USD 475 in Human Resources at the Devin Center. She was to retire on June 11, 2010.
She is survived by two sons; Scott Shrewsbury and Doug Shrewsbury both of Junction City, KS and one sister; Kathy Allen of Columbus, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son; Keith Shrewsbury in 1980.
