Josephine Ann Polach, 93 years, 10 months and 27 days of Harrisonville, MO departed this life on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Benchmark Healthcare of Harrisonville at the age of 93 years, 10 months and 27 days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, January 14, 2013 at the St. Xavier Catholic Church with Father Al Brungardt officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service at the St. Xavier Catholic Church. Memorial contributions have been designated to the St. Xavier Catholic Church, P.O. Box 399, Junction City, KS 66441.
She was born February 12, 1919 in Hays, Kansas the 6th of 13 children to Peter and Elizabeth (Meier) Bollig.
Josephine was raised on a farm on the Saline River between Hays and Plainville, Kansas and was a graduate of the Plainville High School.
On July 15, 1940, Josephine was united in marriage to Joseph Polach and to this union one daughter was born, Marilyn. They moved to Junction City, Kansas where they resided until Josephine moved to Harrisonville after the death of her husband in 2010.
Josephine was a homemaker and taking care of her home and family was her passion and enjoyed being a Brownie Scout Leader. She was a former member of St. Xavier Catholic Church and the Ladies Alter Society Circle #2, Junction City, Kansas and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Joseph Polach; 2 sisters and 9 brothers.
Josephine is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Stein and her husband, Robert, Garden City, Missouri; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Alfred Bollig, Dalhart, Texas; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m.
