Joseph G. Horton
Joseph G. "Joe" Horton, 64, of Junction City, formerly of White City, died March 3, 2014 at his home. Joe was born Oct. 29, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Percy & Bertie Horton. He attended schools in Apopka, Florida. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and spent his career in the military. He served in the Gulf War, and after discharge from the U.S. Army, was a civilian employee at Ft. Riley.
He was a member of the Earl C. Gormley, Post #45 of The American Legion in Junction City.
He married Linda Moore on Oct. 10, 1972 in Florida. She died May 11, 2012. Survivors include a son, Scott Horton and wife Carissa; a daughter Shannon Robertson and husband Paul, all of Junction City; 3 brothers, Thomas Horton, Apopka, Fl., Wayne Horton, Ft. Pierce, Fl., and William Horton, Eustis, Fl.; his mother, Bertie Horton, Apopka., Florida; and 2 grandsons, Gregory Robertson, and Aiden Horton. He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Jeff Horton.
Crematon has taken place.
Ashes will be scattered in the Atlantic Ocean off the Florida coast at a later date.
