Jolene Field

December 18, 1959 — January 7, 2021

Frances Jolene Field, 61, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at her home. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 1705 McFarland Road. Bishop James Harbaugh will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Milford Cemetery.

She was born December 18th, 1959 in Provo, Utah to Dwight L. Potter and Wanda Stromberg.

Jolene attended Spanish Fork High School, Utah and received her degree from Kaplan University.

Jolene was endowed with a commitment to family, ingrained by faith. She was a loving daughter, sister, and mother; whose well-spring of time and love were bottomless. She proudly treasured her children and was enjoying new chapters with her grandchildren. She embraced every moment, and seized every opportunity to connect and laugh.

Jolene, always adventurous, held several professions throughout her life including: as a model, forest ranger with the United States Forest Service, and a United States Army Military Police officer where she earned her Airborne jump wings.

In 1996, after moving to Junction City, Kansas, Jolene joined the Fort Riley Commissary, whose many staff over the years became an extended family. Although her positions shifted, she was a consummate figure around the store and other regional commissaries.

Jolene served her faith and her community giving to many local organizations and as an LDS Primary teacher. She was a social creature, who loved to share and connect and always thought of others.

Those survivors left to mourn her loss are her father, Dwight L. Potter of Milford, KS; one son, John Brandon Rodgers of Junction City, KS; two daughters MiCale Allison Wells and her husband Justin Gregory Wells of Coldwater, MI, Cagney Marie Capps-Wadsworth and her husband Nicholas Aaron Wadsworth of San Antonio, TX; four brothers, Gregg Potter and his wife Lynn of CA, Dwight "Mitch" Potter and his wife Martha of MT, Kelly Potter and his wife Yogi of KS and Douglas "Rusty" Potter and his wife Christine of FL; one sister, Laura Green and her husband Jeff of UT; four grandchildren, Brayden, Tucker, Dianne and Wesley

Jolene quickly follows her mother Wanda, who passed 26 December 2020, for whom she lived and cared for the last 16 years. She is also preceded by her husband John "Jack" Spencer Field who passed away August 13, 2009.
