Johnny McArthur Trotter, 69, of Chapman, departed this life on July 4th, 2013. He was born on September 30, 1943 in Sevierville, Tennessee, to parents Harry and Betty Lee Trotter.
Johnny served in the Army as Tactical Communications Chief and Instructor. He was a gardener and fisherman, and enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors. He was also an avid John Wayne fan.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Trotter.
Johnny leaves behind to cherish his memory two sons, Johnny E. Trotter (Shai) of Abilene, KS and Justin Trotter of Manhattan, KS; two daughters, Karen Trotter of Abilene, KS and Angela Trotter of Topeka, KS. He is also survived by a brother, Ronnie; two sisters, Betty Lee and Grace; as well as six grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held to honor Johnny's memory at 10:30 AM on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at the Kansas Veteran's Cemetery in Manhattan, KS. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel on Washington Street in Junction City, KS prior to the service, followed by a procession to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages all to make a donation in Johnny's memory to the Disabled American Veterans at VA Hospital – Bldg #24 RM106G 2200 SW Gage Blvd Topeka, KS 66622.
