John Verbonitz, Jr.

Graveside Services with full military honors for John Verbonitz, Jr., 85, Junction City, will be held at 11:00AM Thursday September 1, 2005 at Humboldt Creek Cemetery with Chaplain John Messer officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday August 31, 2005 from 6:00-8:00pm at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel.

Mr. Verbonitz was born June 11, 1920 in Luzerne County, PA the son of John and Alice Elizabeth (Pesarisick) Verbonitz, Sr. He had lived in Wichita before moving to Junction City in 1950. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WW II. He worked for the Kansas Highway Department retiring in 1966, He was a farmer stockman.

Mr. Verbonitz was married to Iva May Roundtree May 17, 1944 in Wichita, KS. She preceded him in death August 3, 2001.

Mr. Verbonitz is survived by three sons: John T. Verbonitz, Beverly, KS; Michael E. Verbonitz, and Anthony W. Verbonitz both of Junction City, KS; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mr. Verbonitz was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Ann Lotocki.
