John Raymond Brumbaugh, age 62, of Junction City Kansas, beloved son and brother departed this life on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Geary Community Hospital and went home to be with his Lord and Savior.
John was born July 10, 1952 at Indianapolis, Indiana, to John and Vanetta (Sutton) Brumbaugh. John was a life-long Kansas resident living primarily in Junction City and a short time in Topeka, KS. He attended Junction City High School and graduated Brown Mackie College, Salina, Kansas receiving a diploma in computer technology.
During his life he worked for the City of Junction City, Mobile Traveler RV Manufacturer, Elliott's Body Shop and Mike's Fire Extinguisher companies. John had a love for auto restoration and delighted in seeing the completion of his work. He had an enthusiasm for animals, including wildlife, and enjoyed caring for them.
John is survived by his mother, Vanetta Brumbaugh, Junction City, KS; one brother, Michael W. Brumbaugh and his wife Barbara of Manhattan; two sisters, Beverly L. Rowe and her husband Reginald of Cozad, NE and Barbara L. Boyanowski and her husband David of Pawtucket, RI. He is also survived by four nephews, Christopher Rowe, Craig Rowe, Matthew Boyanowski and Jason Brumbaugh as well as two nieces Amanda Morin and Jessica Brumbaugh, in addition to several great-nieces and great-nephews. One of his greatest pleasures was spending time with his nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Brumbaugh.
Visitation will be at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home, 805 Caroline Avenue, Junction City from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 with service at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment is private.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations in John's honor to the Friends of Animals at Geary County Animal Shelter, Junction City.
