A visitation for John "Jack" Field, 63, of Junction City will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at St. Xavier Catholic Church. A private inurnment service for the family will be held at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery. Mr. Field passed away at his home on August 13, 2009.
Jack was born on June 3, 1946, Sacramento, California to Maurice and Laura (Nelson) Field. He was a graduate of St. Xavier High School. He served in the U. S. Army from 1965-1968, following his time in the service he returned to California until 1972, he then moved to Junction City where he had a construction business until 1981. Jack then went to work at the Commissary where he was still employed as a warehouse supervisor at the time of his passing. Jack was an avid donor to the Red Cross during his lifetime.
Jack will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
He married Kay Nicholson in 1980 and they had their first daughter, Malia and later they had Melissa. They divorced in 1999, he later met Jolene Potter and they married on December 31, 2004, Junction City, KS at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his wife Jolene of Junction City, his mother, Laura Field of Junction City, his daughters, Malia Opat and her husband Weston, Melissa Field all of Shawnee, KS, his step-children, Ryan Edney of Shawnee, KS, Cagney Marie of Belgium, MiCale "Mickey" and John Brandon both of Junction City, grandson, Brandon Dale Edney of MO, his siblings, Tana Field of Kansas City, KS, Jean Snyder and her husband Dick of Enid, OK, Rex Field and his wife Vaudene of Junction City, Mike Field and his wife Denise of Hutchinson, KS, Paula King and her husband Ed of Dallas, TX and Mary Legeret and her husband Tom of Richland, MI.
He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice.
