John Carlson

A Memorial service for John Carlson, 72, of Junction City, KS will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 with Pastor Matthew Glasgow officiating. Burial will precede the memorial service at 10:00 a.m. at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. John passed away at Geary Community Hospital on May 29, 2009. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Presbyterian Church, 113 W. 5th Street, Junction City, KS 66441.

John was born January 18, 1937 Junction City, KS to Harold W. and Ida E. (Kummer) Carlson. He was a 1955 graduate of Junction City High School and resided his entire life in the Junction City community. He married Ruth Anne Walker June 3, 1962. John was a farmer and a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

John is survived by his wife, Ruth Anne of Junction City, two sisters, Annie Guilmett and Elaine Ney, and several nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ella Mae Dickson.
