Funeral Services for John Cecil "Grandpa John" Brumm will be 10:00am Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington, Junction City, KS with Reverend Everett "Bud" Tuxhorn officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Dwight. John passed away Friday, December 14, 2007. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00pm Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First, 624 N. John was born June 7, 1946 in Junction City the son of John and Rita L. ( Fulton) Brumm. He attended schools in the Dwight area. Prior to entering military serviced John worked for Western Construction on the Milford Lake Project and helped build Milford Dam
John entered the US Marine Corps in November 1965 and was discharged in November 1968. He served one tour in Vietnam and was wounded in action and was awarded a Purple Heart.
He married Anne Washburn on June 10, 1970. she survives at the home.
Survivors include two children, James Brumm and Regina Calvert; four grandchildren, Ashley Brumm, Chris Calvert, Caleb Brown, and Rachel Brown; two great-grandchildren Gavin Calvert and Thomas John Brumm; two step-sisters Shirley and Paul Ehm, Manhattan, KS, and Janice and Melvin Howard, Junction City, KS; and brother-in-law Bernie Lunsford, Lowpoint, ILL, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and their descendants.
Preceded in death by his parents and sister Celia Lunsford.
