SFC (Retired) Joe L. Willis, 74, of Junction City, KS, passed away on October 19, 2020 at Via Christi Nursing Home in Manhattan, KS. A graveside service with military honors will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery with Chaplain Doug Hamilton officiating. Mr. Willis will lie in state 5-7 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2020, at the Johnson Funeral Home.
Joe was born April 24, 1946 in Mt. Helen, AR, the son of Adelle Willis.
Joe served in the United States Army until his retirement. After retirement, he worked as a para-professional for USD #475 at Junction City High School.
He married Ollie Wade July 23, 1983.
Survivors left to mourn his loss is his wife Ollie of the home in Junction City, KS; one son, Kelsy Wade of Salina, KS; four daughters, Rochelle Wade of Durham, NC, Carla Willis of Greensboro, NC, Melodi Denson of Tampa, FL and Jasmyn Griffin of Junction City, KS; eighteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Crystal Willis and his parents.
