Joanne M. Sowder

Memorial services for Joanne M. Sowder, 70, Junction City will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, April 5, 2007 at the Church Of The Nazarene with Pastor James Bond officiating. Mrs. Sowder went to her eternal rest March 20, 2007 at Geary Community Hospital. No visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Church Of The Nazarene, 1315 West Ash Street, Junction City, KS 66441.





Joanne was born May 14, 1936 in Cincinnati, OH the daughter of Joseph A. and Myrtle (Means) Beckman. She married Charles (Chuck) Sowder April 3, 1954. They moved to Junction City in September 1972. She had worked as a hotel manager at Ramada Inn and Liberty Inn before retiring.



Joanne is survived by her husband C.W. Sowder, mother of Daniel Ray Sowder of Junction City, KS, Kim Marie Boore of Junction City, Karla Jo Wasion of Illinois, Kelly Jean Puhr of Junction City, and Billy Joe Sowder of Junction City. Grandmother of April, Nickki, Talia, Shawn, Nathan, Anthony, Samantha, Melanie, Brian, Maegan, Codi, Marianna, Laken, Haley, Amanda and Trever. Great-Grandmother of Stephanie, Storm, and Joseph. She loved god, family and country.



Cremation is planned . Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
