Jo Anne Lee Appodaca, 77, of Junction City, passed away January 5, 2004 at Geary Community Hospital of cancer. Cremation is planned. A gathering of family and friends is planned at the Green Hills Club House, Sunday, January 11, 2004, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to Geary Community Health Care Foundation, c/o ICU, P.O. Box 3015, Junction City, KS 66441.
Jo Anne was born March 14, 1926, in Junction City, KS, daughter of Leo F. and Caroline (Enders) Henry. She was a switchboard operator out at Fort Riley and Lamar Hotel, and Tom Fegan Telephone Company in Junction City for many years. She was united in marriage to Jess Appodaca May 3, 1951 in Lexington, S.C. , they were married for a glorious 52 years.
She attended St. Xavier Schools and church. Jo Anne was a lifetime resident of Junction City, a devoted mother and homemaker, she enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing wither her loving husband, family and friends
Survivors include her husband; Jess Appodaca of Junction City, two sons; Jess Appodaca, Jr. of Salina, and Frank Appodaca of Junction City, two daughters; Carolyn Carrico of Grand Rapids, MI, and Vicky Parrish of Wilson, NC, one step-daughter; Jessica Perez of Bakersfield, CA, two brothers; John Henry of Abilene, and Leo "Butch" Henry, Jr. of Junction City, two sisters; Phyllis McKinney of Broken Arrow, OK, and Linda McDonald of Junction City, KS; She has 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Lou (Henry) Bowers.
