Jesse V. Mickens

Jesse V. Mickens, 81, of Independence, Missouri, formerly of Junction City, Kansas was called to his heavenly home on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Carmel Hills Wellness & Rehabilitation in Independence, Missouri. 

A funeral will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the Johnson and Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home in Junction City, Kansas. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the funeral.

Burial will immediately follow the funeral at Highland Cemetery with military honors. 

Jesse retired from the United States Army. After his retirement, he worked as a cook and dining steward at Fort Riley. Over the years, he was active with the American Legion and V.F.W.

He married Maggie Ruth Green Rudolph on December 15, 1990. She died December 9, 2020.

Survivors include one son, Jesse V. Mickens, Jr. of Wichita, Kansas; two step-sons, Dan Rudolph, Jr. of Junction City, Kansas and Gregory Rudolph of Hutchinson, Kansas; two step-daughters, Geraldine "Faye" Rudolph of Cleveland, Ohio and Yolanda "Rochelle" Carson of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Maggie; and two step-sons, Timothy Rudolph and Unray Rudolph.
