Jerome Mcpheron

Funeral services for Jerome A.(Jerry) McPheron, 58, of Junction City, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at First Baptist Church with Pastor James Callaway officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Jerry passed away Thursday, December 31, 2009, at Geary Community Hospital after a short illness. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel, 203 N. Washington St. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church, 624 N. Jefferson St. Junction City, Ks. 66441.

Mr. McPheron was born February 12, 1951, in Pueblo, CO to Alex and Clara (Ortega) Luna who divorced in 1955. Mrs. Luna then later married Robert McPheron on April 2, 1956, who legally adopted Jerry in 1961.

Jerry graduated from Junction City High School in 1970. He previously attended schools in Colorado, Germany and Tennessee. After working several years in the carpentry trade, he went to work for AG Press in Manhattan. At the time of his death, he was still working for AG Press with over twenty years of service.

Survivors include his father Robert McPheron of Junction City, KS and two daughters, Starla J.(Darryl) McPheron-Hall of Belleville, NJ and Crystal Dawn McPheron of Junction City,granddaughter, Arianna Belle McPheron of Junction City, KS. He is also survived by one brother, Richard M. (Beatrice) Luna of Colorado Springs, CO, his grandmother, Lucy Grant of Pueblo, CO, his beloved Aunt Delores Herrera of Pueblo, CO and numerous uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his Mother Clara McPheron and Grandfather Lloyd Ortega.
