Jerold R Rainwater

Funeral services for Jerold R. "Jerry" Rainwater, 71, of Junction City, KS, will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the First Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Nate Butler officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial with full military honors will follow the services at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery. Jerry passed away June 26th, 2010, at home in Junction City in the loving arms of his wife Chong Sun. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Southern Baptist Church, 1220 W. 8th Street, Junction City, KS 66441.

He was born on February 10th, 1939 the son of Sidney Rainwater and Marrie Kenney.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army for 23 years, and was honorably discharged and retired from Ft. Riley, KS. During his military career he served in Vietnam and the Pentagon as well as many other assignments. He went on to serve his country for 11 years in the Civil Service, Multi Purpose Range Complex (MPRC) at Ft. Riley, eventually retiring in 2001.

He married Chong Sun, "Margaret" in Junction City on March 1st, 1984, she survives him.

Other survivors include one sister, six children, Patsy, Ray, Barry, Pam, Brenda and Max, sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
