Services for Jennie S. Thornton will be Friday, Feb. 1, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel, Burial will be at a later date in Highland Garden of Memories in Belvidere, IL. Jennie died at the Valley View Professional Care Center at Junction City, KS on January 29, 2002. She was born on January 1, 1910 at Iron Belt, WI to Matt and Kisa Johanna (Karhula) Hill. Jennie was married to Alfred Hill in September 1925, he preceded her in death September of 1941, she later married Ernest J. Thornton in September 1942, they later divorced. She spent most of her life in Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois and moved to Junction City, KS in 1999. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and the American Legion #45 both of Junction City, KS. She is survived by Five Daughters; Joyce Jackson of Junction City, KS, Clarice Kieselburg of Port Charlotte, FL Carol Dupes of West Des Moines, IA, Bertha Pierce and Signe Blodgett of Belvidere, IL, Three Sons; Clyde Hill of Junction City, KS, Robert Hill and Ernest Thornton of Belvidere, IL, One Sister; Laina Reed of Tomahawk, WI, Twenty-Nine Grandchildren, 58 Great-Grandchildren, Thirty Great-Great Grandchildren and One Great-Great-Great Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Three Brothers and Three Sisters, Two sons; William E. Hill and Donald L. Hill, Five grandchildren and One Great-Grandchild.
