Ms. Hitzfeld passed away at Geary Community Hospital on June 1, 2008. Memorial Contributions may be given to Ogden Bible Church, 204 Thirteenth St., Ogden, Kansas 66517.

Ms. Hitzfeld was born March 13, 1941 the oldest of 8 children to John and Hazel (Hinsdale ) Raymond in Napa, California.

She graduated early at the top of her class from Napa Valley High School in California.

Jeannie was married to two men; Dorman Hitzfeld and later to James Nobili.

While growing up, Jeannie was a tomboy and thoroughly enjoyed playing sports. Being the eldest of eight, she was ever at hand to assist her busy mother by cooking, cleaning and watching over the little ones. Jeannie was a bankteller as her first job while still in high school and through the years continued working in sales; always giving excellent customer service.

She thoroughly enjoyed other people's company and never met a stranger with her gift of talk and beautiful smile. She was an avid reader and gifted at cross-stitch, embroidery, or any craft she took to hand; passions she tried to pass on to her children. There wasn't anyone around who could produce a better tasting chocolate chip or snickerdoodle cookie nor a pot roast with savory vegetables on a Sunday afternoon. Always one to play pranks and be silly, she was known to tease her hair up high and chase her kids while cackling with laughter or suddenly break out in a little dance when the music was just right. Jeannie was a christian who loved the Lord; another passion she passed on to her kids and of which we are so thankful.

Prior to her coming to Junction City, Jeannie resided in many places including Houston, Cleveland, Iceland, England, and Albuquerque, to name a few.

Jeannie is survived by three sons; Mark Hitzfeld, of Junction City, John Hitzfeld of Vancouver, WA, David Nobili of Brook Park, OH, one daughter; Donna (Hitzfeld) Cole of Austin, TX, three brothers; John Jr., James, and Stephen, three sisters; Jennifer, Katherine, and Mary, and six grandchildren; Eric, Benjamin, Timothy, and Michael Hitzfeld, Lane (Deuce) Cole, II and Geoffrey Hitzfeld.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Sullivan.
