Funeral services for Edith Jaunita (Hockman) Drenon, 95, of Junction City will be held Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington St., with Father Dale Plummer officating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Burial will be private at Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Drenon passed away, Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Valley View Senior Life Center. Memorial contributions may be made to Homecare and Hospice c/o Geary Community Health Care Foundation, P.O. Jaunita was born May 20, 1915 in Rural Edwards, Missouri to William & Mattie (Smith) Hockman. She married Wallace E. Drenon on January 18, 1933 in Warsaw, Missouri and they moved to Junction City in 1947. She was a homemaker and researched family history and compiled and published the 'Drenon-Hart Genealogy' and "Descendants of Jacob D. Hockman.'
She was a former member of the First Universalist Church, the EHU Homemaker Club and the African Violet Club, a member of the FOE Eagles Auxiliary #830 and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 50 years.
She is survived by two daughters; Linda Dee Bohnenkamper of Cincinnati, OH and Pamela "Susie" Schultz of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Five granddaughters and one grandson, three great-granddaughters, eight great-grandsons and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents and one brother Arnold Hockman.
