Janie Shimako Maston, 79, of Junction City, passed away July 17, 2004 at her residence. Visitation will be Friday, July 23, 2004, 8:30-10:30 a.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. A graveside service will follow the visitation, 11 a.m. at Fort Riley Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Joe Belardo officiating.
Mrs. Maston was born October 30, 1924, in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Pref., Japan, daughter of Segi and Kiyo Miyasawa. She was a homemaker and had worked for the Geary County Extension Office. Mrs. Maston married Leverious Maston, Sr. on May 9, 1951 in Yokohama, Japan.
Mr. Maston resides in Junction City. Other survivors include his two sons, Leverious, Jr. and A James Maston both of Las Vegas, NV; one daughter, Judy Wilson of Louisville, KY; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Yasumi Horii.
Pallbearers will be her two sons Leverious, Jr. and A James; son-in-law Rick Wilson; and three grandsons Paul Maston, A James Maston II, and Ricky Wilson II.
