Janice A. Boland

Janice "Jan" Ann Boland, 74, of Milford, KS passed away December 30, 2013 at Valley View Senior Life Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, January 6, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Matthew Glasgow officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, 805 Caroline Avenue. Cremation will follow the services and a private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Milford Cemetery. Memorial contributions have been designated to the First Presbyterian Church, 113 W. 5th Street Junction City, KS 66441 and Hospice at Geary Community, in c/o Geary Community Health Care Foundation, P.O. Box 3015, Junction City, KS 66441.

Jan was born July 8, 1939 in Ogden, KS to Quinton and Anna "Annie" ( McHugh) Bradshaw. She married Earl T. Boland December 12, 1959 in Junction City, KS he survives of the home.

Jan worked for the Geary County Appraisers office as an office assistant for 14 years and retired in March of 2011 but her passion was being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was an excellent cook and loved to bake and Jan was an avid Kansas State Wildcats and Kansas City Chiefs fan. She enjoyed the many road trips that she and Earl took over the years. Jan loved to read and embroidery.

Jan enjoyed being the hostess for many family Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings, she loved being surrounded by her family and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her five children; Kelley Boland of Junction City, KS, Shannon Rolfs (Tom) of Milford, KS, Eric Boland (Brenda) of Junction City, KS, Brad Boland (Heather M.) of Junction City, KS and Jason Boland (Heather J.) of Junction City, KS, she is also survived by her step-sons; Russ Boland (Mary) of Milford, KS, Tom Boland of Junction City, KS and step-daughter Jackie Ayers (Kerry) of Farmington, MO, her sister Connie Clavin of Newstrawn, KS.

Also surviving are twenty one grandchildren; TJ, Lizzie (Carl), Dana (Dustin), Brett (Amanda), Caitlin (Ian), Joshua, Quinn, Cassie, Jerrad, Ryan, Reece, Christie (Jim,) Casie, Shelby, Brian (Amy), Becky (Alex), Jenny (Paul), Melissa, Rusty, Aaron (Heidi) and Jeremy, she is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren; Cameron, Conner, Arianna, Jacob, Grace, Morgan, Jordyn, Indy, Rita, Trenton, Logan and Jed, her many cousins, nieces, nephews and especially her Uncle Ralph McHugh (Nolene).

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Renee' Lynn Bradshaw and Sharon K. Davis, her grandson Montana T. Boland and her granddaughter-in-law, Brenda Boland.
