Janett Ingrid Doris Melendez, 63, of Junction City, Kansas passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Stormont Vail - Flint Hills Campus in Junction City, Kansas.
Cremation will take place.
The family will receive friends 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the Johnson Funeral Home 203 N. Washington Street Junction City, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Junction City Animal Shelter because of her passion towards animals. Contributions may be mailed to 2424 N. Jackson Street Junction City, Kansas 66441.
Janett was born December 30, 1960, in Wiesentheid, Germany the daughter of Joseph R. and Magdalena (Rott) Dupere.
Janett was the grocery manager at the Commissary at Fort Riley. Janett had a strong work ethic. She took pride with her work and worked long and hard hours with all of her jobs. Janett enjoyed cooking and was known for her culinary skills. Her family was important to her. She enjoyed teaching good manners to her children, nephews and nieces. Decorating for the holidays and tending to her yard work was done with pride and precision.
Survivors include two sons; Charles Melendez and his wife Ashley of Manhattan, Kansas and Kevin Smith of Junction City, Kansas; two brothers, Michael Dupere of Montevideo, Minnesota and Leroy Dupere of Junction City, Kansas; one sister, Inge Noa of Junction City, Kansas; two grandchildren, Damion and Holden both of Manhattan, Kansas and her best friend Benny Melendez; nephews and nieces, Casey and her husband Herschel Weishaar and their children Bowie, Lyra, Colt and August, Morgan and her husband Andrew Goebel and their children Tucker and Russell, Maria (Maggie) and her husband Dave Metzler and a host of many cousins in Copperas Cove, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and many uncles and aunts.
