Janelle Jo Gantenbein
Born July 12, 1950, to parents Dallas and Virginia Faulkner. Her sister is Donna (husband Howard) Briggs of Junction City, Kansas.
Janelle attended Wakefield schools before graduating from Chapman High School with the class of 1968. On July 20, 1968 she was united in marriage to Douglas C. Gantenbein. They were rewarded with three fine sons of whom they are very proud. Craig (wife Mandy) 1969, John Dallas "J.D." 1972, and Brad (wife Christina) 1975. In addition to seven wonderful grandchildren that Janelle doted over.
Most of Janelle and Doug's adult life has been spent in the Abilene area, where Janelle had a very successful career working for the Abilene Reflector Chronicle newspaper. Her 37 years saw her work her way from reception to business manager to associate publisher. She made many friends among her co-workers and the public (customers) during this time.
She departed this life at home, December 16, 2016.
She will be sorely missed by her husband (of 48 years), Doug of the home in Abilene; her mother, Virginia of Enterprise Estates; sons, Craig (Mandy) Gantenbein of Bennington, KS, John Dallas (J.D) Gantenbein of Chapman, KS, Brad (Christina) Gantenbein of Abilene, KS; her Sister, Donna (Howard) Briggs of Junction City, KS; and grandchildren, Jenna, Alexandria, Sam, Emily, Maggie, Kallie, and Lancie Gantenbein.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Dallas Eugene Faulkner, Brother, Donald Eugene Faulkner.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the New Trail Fellowship Church, 2373 Flag Rd, Abilene, Kansas, with Pastor Stan Norman presiding. Memorials are suggested to the Abilene Home Health & Hospice, 1111 N Brady St, Abilene, KS 67410. Flowers of remembrance can be sent to the church or to Doug Gantenbein, 505 Tom Smith Circle, Abilene, KS 67410.
Cremation Arrangement are being handled through Dove Cremation & Funeral Service of Junction City, Kansas.
