Jane C. "Janie" Leonard

Jane C. Leonard, 79, of Chapman, passed away on October 9, 2023, in the care of her loving husband. A memorial service is pending at the Madura Christian Church in Wakefield, Kansas. Cremation has taken place per family's request.

She was born on March 9, 1944, to Verlin and Maxine (O' Ferrel) Day in Blue Rapids, Kansas. Jane attended Junction City High School and graduated in 1960. After high school she was married to her first husband and had their first daughter together, Tinamarie, shortly after they had their second daughter, Debbie-Ann. After ten years of marriage, Homer and Jane decided to divorce.

Jane then met Talton, her loving husband of 53 years. Talton came back from Vietnam and immediately knew that was his future wife. Being a military spouse caused her to move around to places such as Hawaii and Europe along with their children.

In her later years, she worked for Dillards in Manhattan, Kansas. She took this position because of her love of fashion and clothing. She enjoyed working this job for two years.

Jane was a faithful Christian and led numerous family and friends to Christ. She was always active in her church community, she will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her loving husband, daughter, Tinamarie, and a host of other loving family and friends.

Jane was preceded by her daughter, Debbie-Ann and her siblings.
