A Mass of Christian Burial for James "Jim" Wahle, 72, of Junction City will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the St. Xavier Catholic Church with Father Al Brungardt officiating, burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, August 12, 2011 at St. Xavier Catholic Church from 6p.m. to 8p.m. with vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Jim passed away on August 11, 2011 at his home surrounded by family.
Jim was born March 15, 1939, Junction City, KS to Russell A. and Dolly E. (Devenney) Wahle, he was a graduate of St. Xavier High School and he received his Bachelors of Industrial Engineering from Kansas State University in 1963. He was a farmer and a machinist.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4-H Member (Humboldt), Optimist Club, Elk's Lodge, Eagles #830, the National Farmer's Organization, the Geary County Rural Fire Dept, Activities Board Member at St. Xavier, a past board member of USD 475 and the KSU Flying Club.
He was instrumental in building the Girl's 4-H Softball field, the St. Xavier Football Field, the Senior Citizens Building, the Geary County Rural Fire House and the Grandview Plaza City Building.
He was a self taught pilot and a well known prankster to many and an avid patron of Stacy's Restaurant, he will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Jim married Marjorie Hartung January 28, 1961 she survives of the home.
Other survivors include his three daughters; Debbie Johnson (Robert)of Stilwell, KS, Teresa Wahle (Jeff Becker) and Leslie Goodwin (Mike)all of Milford, KS, his sister, Dorothy Schicktanz (Bill) of Littleton, CO, his sister-in-law, Nadine Wahle, his aunt, Roma Wahle both of Junction City, nine grandchildren; Samantha Evans (Wayne)of Olathe, KS, Shannon Russell, Mikhale Johnson both of Stilwell, KS, Russell Sinnard (Crystal) of Junction City, Erika, Seth, Morgan, Charly and Cole Goodwin all of Milford, KS and a great-granddaughter, Rylinn Sinnard of Junction City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jack Wahle.
Pallbearers will be Steve Wahle, Tom Schicktanz, Mike Stittsworth, Kurt Weiland, Dennis Boller and Darryl Boller.
