Funeral services for James E. Ray, 46, Junction City will be 1 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel with Rev. Troy Slater officiating. Burial will follow at Humboldt Cemetery. Mr. Ray passed away Saturday, December 30, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. tonight at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington, Junction City, KS 66441. Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 630 S. Eisenhower, Junction City, KS 66441.

James was born March 16, 1960 at Great Bend, KS, the son of Robert H. and Pauline (Karst) Ray. He attended Junction City Schools and graduated from Junction City High School in 1978. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. James was employed as a mechanic at Bldg. 8100, Fort Riley, KS from 1986-2002. Since 2002 he was pursuing his interest as a farmer/stockman.

James married Karen Tillotson May 23, 1990, she survives of the home; other survivors include son Matthew Ray of the home, stepson Gabreal Tillotson, Manhattan, KS, sister, Donna Potter and husband Arthur, Junction City, KS; parents Robert and Pauline Ray, Junction City, KS

Pallbearers will be Arthur Potter, Bill Haliburton, Kevin Cope, Chris Foster, Mark Diehl, and Richard Roeser.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gabreal Tillotson, Paul Heidel, Butch Roberts, and Ron Karst.
