SFC (RET) Jaime A. Garcia, 70, of Milford, Kansas, passed away on November 15, 2023, at Stormont-Vail Healthcare. A family led celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Jaime was born on June 4, 1953, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His stories growing up there were always adventurous. At seventeen years old, Jaime decided to enlist into the United States Army, bringing him to Fort Riley, Kansas. This was the start of his new life.
Soon after being stationed on Fort Riley, he met the love of his life, Ellen, at the bowling alley on Fort Riley. Soon after they married on July 5,1975. They shared 48 years of marriage together raising their three daughters. During his military career, he and his family were stationed in Germany three times and were stationed three times in the United States.
He served his country honorably for 21 years, earning many awards, decorations, medals, and badges.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen; three daughters, Kristina (Gabe) Gillick, Monika (Derrick) Tomes, and Jessika (Aron) Haselbauer; four grandchildren, Brooklyn (Geo) Lee, Jayla Haselbauer, Ethan Boggs, and Tristin Haselbauer and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Chase.
Jaime A. Garcia was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a self-titled "expert" fisherman.
